...Bocking, Essex

I was recently approached by The Rev'd Rod Reid, Dean of Bocking, to design and build a new website for St. Mary's in Bocking.

It's been a really great project to work on, not least because it was for my local church, but the opportunity to get the keys and spend several days taking all the photography for the website. In the peace and quite of the church I had time to really look and find the wealth of detail and craftsmanship that went into building, from the stone and wood carving to the stained glass windows.

I was also pleased to be able to include all the research I had undertaken on the men named on the church's Great War Memorial on the website too.

Embarking on the journey of designing and creating a new website is an unnerving and daunting time. I have now been at St Mary’s Church in Bocking for a few years and it had been clear for some time that our website was not fit for purpose. So whilst on the one hand I wanted to make the most of this opportunity, I also really needed to know it was in safe hands.

With all of that, I feel blessed that it was Frank that we turned too. From our very first meeting, and then right through the process, it was clear that Frank didn’t just bring a great wealth of experience and skill to this but also a care and desire to get it right, and not give us something off the shelf.  After spending some time sharing ideas, as well as my hopes for the new site, Frank took to the photography, design and creation process with great excitement. At every stage, it was very much a partnership and now with the new website complete, I couldn’t be more thrilled with what we have now, and the potential it has created for us further down the line.
